Ray Lewis’ flashy Super Bowl cleats
Baltimore Ravens linebacker, Ray Lewis will be going out with a bang in his final game- in style.
Ray-Ray will be wearing these cleats for Super Bowl XLVII. The cleats made by Under Armor, a Baltimore based company, will feature a predominantly sparkly gold cleat with a splash of purple thrown in there.
Lewis sure loves that spotlight. He probably could create his own by the reflection off those shoes if he wanted and will be easily noticeable with these eye sores, even if you’re sitting way up in Section 627, row 20 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome (if the person reading this does in fact have seats in Section 627, row 20, I’m jealous of you).
Also, written on them will be Lewis’ favorite verse, Psalms 91, which is placed on the outside of the shoe. And when Ray puts on those cleats, just in case he forgets how great his 17-year career was, he’ll be reminded when he sees all of his accomplishments printed on the insole- 13x Pro Bowler, Super Bowl XXXV MVP, 33 INT’s, 2x Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year, yeah you get the picture.
Ray-Ray won’t be the only one wearing some fancy cleats. Defensive linemen, Haloti “BIG BOY” Ngata will be sporting purple cleats with some of that sparkly gold underneath. Receivers, Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith, along with safety Ed Reed will be wearing some low-cut purple shoes with a wide gold slash on the back end.
I guess if you’re going up against a vaunted offense and defense like the 49ers, you gotta do what you gotta do to distract them and take them off their game.
