New Rochelle (NY) stuns Mt. Vernon (NY) (Video)

new york buzzer beater, new york high school buzzer beater, buzzer beater new york, new rochelle buzzer beater finals

There is something about prep basketball that just amazes me. Here you have kids whose ages range anywhere from 14-18 years old, some with bright basketball futures and some just playing because the coach needed to fill roster space. But no matter the skill level or experience, I never cease to find some amount of enjoyment in the competitiveness of it all. These aren’t college players who are NBA bound and seeking millions, nor are they NBA players who have already been paid the millions are now whiny divas; they truly display what sports are meant to be.

This video you are about to watch have over 1 million views on YouTube and was just posted yesterday March 3. The clip features high schools New Rochelle (NY) and Mt. Vernon (NY)  matched up in the New York Section 1 Class AA final. After a failed attempt by Mt. Vernon to run out time after they intercepted New Rochelle’s inbound pass you see Khalil Edney grab a loose ball and then the magic happens:

In the words of Dickie V., “Madness, baby. Madness.”
